PHILADELPHIA, PA – Through July, Bongo Bar & Deck, the
city’s premier destination for outdoor dining, located atop
The Moshulu, the four-masted ship that is permanently docked on the
Delaware River at 401 South Columbus Boulevard, is offering one of
the best dining deals around -- Grilled Island Spiced Lobster for
only $20. Guests can dine on the ship’s spacious deck while
enjoying a split Maine lobster served with scallion fingerling potato
salad and grilled corn off the cob.
“With the price of gas continuing to rise, and the cost of
real estate and rent going through the roof, we thought our guests
would appreciate a much needed break,” says Owner Martin Grims.
The Island Spiced Lobster dish, Executive Chef Ralph Fernandez’s
interpretation of a traditional Lobster bake, begins with fresh 1.25
to 1.5 lb Maine lobster, which is seasoned with a blend of spices,
including ginger, red Thai curry and garlic, and grilled to perfection.
Whether watching the sun set over the city with an after work cocktail
or joining friends for a lively dining experience out under the stars,
Bongo Bar is a must for anyone visiting or living in the city. With
its playful Polynesian décor and stunning riverfront location, the casual bar and restaurant
transports guests to another time when majestic ships like The Moshulu passed
through exotic ports of call.
Guests can enjoy fun, beach-inspired cocktails, including seasonal
variations of Martinis, Margaritas, Daiquiris and Coladas. Bongo
Bar also features an impressive selection of wines, hand crafted
beers and premium spirits. From 6 to 9 pm every Wednesday through
Sunday, the deck features live Caribbean music.
For a memorable evening, guests can dine on Bongo Bar’s spacious deck
which offers an extensive menu with all items priced at $20 and less. The menu
features: Ahi Tuna Nachos, guacamole, roma tomato, wasabi and ginger soy glaze;
Lobster Mac and Cheese, brioche Parmesan crust, peas, roast tomato and cremini
mushrooms; Filet Mignon Medallions with grilled asparagus and smashed red bliss
potatoes; Crab and Shrimp Cake with black bean salsa and smoked chile cream;
and the Bongo Platter, honey roasted wings, Portobello stack and grilled pizza.
